Our Team
Before starting Buchanan Consulting, Steve worked for a Fortune 500 Company for over three decades, holding many different operational positions and leadership roles. Along the way, he discovered his passion for helping leaders accomplish more through individual coaching and coaching organizations to be more effective and self-sufficient.
To Steve, coaching businesses is like solving fascinating and unique puzzles. He thrives on learning the ins and outs of each individual organization he consults with, as well as building value-based relationships with leaders and teams. All organizations are so different, and whether he’s working with a nonprofit, a corporation, a small business, or a professional practice, he’s been honored to continually be trusted as an advisor who delivers measurable results. Once he understands an organization’s leadership, teams, culture, processes, and beyond, his true speciality is his ability to identify the most pressing hurdles that are preventing the organization from scaling, and then to create action steps to overcome those obstacles, one-by-one.
On a personal level, Steve has been happily married to his wife Monica for over 30 years, and they have two daughters who are both married. His daughter, Jennifer, has blessed their family with two grandsons, Henry and Walker, while his other daughter, Stephanie, has also blessed them with a granddaughter, Olivia. When he’s not helping businesses level up, he loves cycling, bourbon and scotch tasting, and University of Alabama football. Roll Tide!
Monica recently joined Buchanan Consulting after a 30+ year career in insurance and financial services leadership with responsibilities throughout the United States and Canada. She effectively led response efforts after large natural disasters including hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfire events that required coordination among many stakeholders and often under challenging circumstances.
Monica successfully led diverse teams while managing multiple priorities, delivering quality results, and creating a culture of accountability. She understands that organizations are complex systems made up of people and processes. This serves to position her as a leader of change and a great mentor to others.
Her demonstrated record of accomplishment for leading projects, creating high-performing teams, and delivering measurable results serves her well in her role with Buchanan Consulting.
